The Youth Volunteer Program

The Youth Volunteer Program is an indispensable instrument for mobilizing and engaging young people in development and peace initiatives. Young people are mobilized and committed to national priorities through IPROSARUDE programs.

The Volunteers Program is a joint program that aims to promote the voluntary participation of Burundian youth in development and social cohesion actions at the community level, coordinated by the Government.
This project aims to integrate young people into the world of employment: IPROSARUDE use this opportunity to gain experience in the world of employment.
The young volunteers work with the more experienced employees and with this experience; they get facilities for integration into the job search world.

Key area: Medical work

Please send us your resume and a cover letter explaining which projects interest you the most, and why and how you would like to volunteer.

IPROSARUDE was created by volunteer doctors who felt the need to improve rural health services.

IPROSARUDE is a non-profit association, ASBL, created in 2010 and approved by the Ministerial Order N530/772 of 29 May 2013.

Your donation will support our mission to save human lives and improve rural health, especially for those vulnerable people through access to quality health care. Your support will also contribute to improving community health (information, education, awareness raising, community mobilization, promoting hygiene, housing, nutrition, etc.) and sustainable development (support for VSLAs to empower young people and women of childbearing age to self-finance and access health care).

U.S.-based donors can now make tax deductible contributions to the IPROSARUDE. We have established a Friends of IPROSARUDE fund at the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS). Because KBFUS is a public charity, within the meaning of Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the IRC, donors may claim the maximum tax benefits allowed by U.S. tax law for their contributions. If you wish to support us, here is how to proceed:

  • Gifts by check: Address your check to KBFUS, write “Friends of IPROSARUDE” in the memo section of the check, and send it to KBFUS, 10 Rockefeller Plaza, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10020.
  • Gifts by credit card:
