Gitega is the province with a very high population at the national level with around 900 000 people with a series of public and private health structures (60health facilities, 8 hospital and 4 health district). However, despite this important device, the services provided are backward; then IPROSARUDE has set up the NGO called Polyclinique Espoir de Gitega (PEGI) in order to increase the access to Specialist healthcare.
