The objective of this project was to contribute to the acquisition and distribution of 62 wheelchairs in favor of the sisters of Gitega who are handicapped mainly due to complications of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases as well as the night light. This project also helped other disabled people to acquire wheelchairs. This helped to strengthen their autonomy in terms of mobility. In this situation, their charges related to movement by third parties were reduced and were able to perform other community tasks. This project has also come to strengthen the psychosocial image of the retired sisters who will see their mobility autonomy increased. This activity was supported by Food for Hungry who supported the acquisition of these chairs and the Rotary club Gitega Rukinzo, who supported in the transport of these wheelchairs.
